These images were made in a small training center located in a quiet edge of downtown Little Rock. Here young men and women from Ironworkers Local 321 learn and perfect the iron-workers’ trade. Seemingly mundane, the images reveal a relationship of permanence and impermanence.
Molded into objects such as bridges and building forms, the metal seems strong and powerful. Yet, the degradation and change inherent in time’s constant processes weighs permanently on these metal objects.
